In a world that moves information at a silent and lightening fast pace, we are faced with unprecedented access to information and data. We live in remarkably diverse cultural, political, and economic environments.  We transmit and receive enormous amounts of data and information that shapes our immediate and extended worldview.

The Digital Asphalt Express Program offers mediamakers and students the opportunity to engage in critical thinking regarding this information. By working with experienced journalists and multi-media creators they will follow an issue or idea from discovery to transmission.

They will concentrate on both the structure and content of journalistic writing, and they will receive hands on technical assistance in the creation of multi-media digital productions, using video cameras, and hand-held devices.  The intent is to inform and report, as well as generate dialogue and awareness within their diverse communities that leads to positive change.

Digital Asphalt Express Workshop commences in January through March 2012 at
