Register at www.PeakPerformance101.com BrainScripting: Transforming Performance Anxiety into Peak Performance Berkeley, CA—Performance anxiety is the number one impediment to peak performance in all performance endeavors—singing, music, athletics, dance, acting, and public speaking. Remarkably, most performers know little about regulating their mental states that can either inhibit or optimize their performance. Performance skills, not just your technical skills in your chosen field, will determine how good you can be. This 4 hour workshop will give all performers the knowledge, tools and strategies to do their best. Using traditional sports psychology methods combined with state of the art brain-based techniques based on the latest neuroscience research, psychologist Patrick Gannon, PhD will demonstrate how you can reduce your anxiety and “install” mental scripts of your own choosing that will prime your brain to take your performance to a higher level. Live demonstrations, lecture, self-assessments will be employed. Fifty page workbook is provided to all participants upon registration. Enrollment is limited. _________________________________________________ Link to BVFF by clicking on above graphic and program schedule. http://www.berkeleyvideofilmfest.org/BVFF2011Selections.html Click above graphic for link CLICK ON GRAPHIC FOR WORKSHOP INFO

“The Last Mambo” explores the world of Salsa/Latin Jazz in the San Francisco Bay area from diverse perspectives of dancers, DJs and musicians. The film discusses how the dance aesthetic, musical presentation and cultural context have changed in the wake of Afrocuban music’s growing popularity and commercialization. “The Last Mambo”, punctuated with interviews, photographs and concert footage captures the spirit of Salsa/Latin Jazz, celebrates its rich cultural heritage and debates the nature of its future. The true language of love? It’s math, says Berkeley professor Edward Frenkel, whose steamy new film touches a nerve: http://www.berkeley.edu/news/media/releases/2010/11/30_rites.shtml http://www.sfbg.com/sexsf/2010/12/01/rites-nude-math-professors-and-berkeley http://twitchfilm.com/reviews/2010/11/review-rites-of-love-and-math.php http://www.math.columbia.edu/~woit/wordpress/?p=3318#comments Overheard at the screening: "If someone dropped a bomb on tonights screening, the top mathematicians in the U.S.
would be wiped out!"
"I had no idea it was still possible to stir up controversy in the Bay area with art involving transgressive sex, and would never have thought that using research mathematics was the way to do it."
